About This Image:

On the original image I thought there was enough potential colour and textures to make something interesting, unfortunately I think this image became an example of not knowing when to stop as it now looks too sharp, too artificial.

What I Did To Original:

The first thing I did was use the Transform Tool to drag out the bottom right of the image to straighten the angle of the gate as I must have been off level when I took it, this also had the effect widening the gate to fill the canvas much better. Then I simply went mad with the Dodge and Burn tool to enhance the textures and used Adjustment Layer - Colour Balance with feather selections to pick out the colours in different areas of the picture. I quite like this image but it would have been nicer if I had downed tools a little earlier.
